GMAT Fee Waiver Policy and Process 2025

It is possible for some students to take the GMAT for free through GMAC's official GMAT Fee Waiver Program. However, you cannot directly apply for the Fee Waiver as an individual.

How the Fee Waiver Works

  • Only colleges or business schools can apply for fee waivers from GMAC on behalf of students.
  • Each approved school can apply for up to 10 GMAT fee waivers for students annually.
  • The school then distributes waivers to students who they deem worthy. This is typically determined by financial need, academic achievement or diversity.

When your school nominates you, you will receive a waiver code.

How to Use It

  • When registering through mba.com, you need to simply input the fee-waiver code during checkout.
  • This will automatically apply and cover you for the full GMAT exam fee.
  • The waiver that you receive is non-transferable and it can only be used by the student it is issued to.

Here's a suggestion for you: Reach out to your target college or business school ahead of time to see if they offer the GMAC Fee Waiver Program or not.
