The Euro American Institute (EAI), Malta, is a key member of the educational conglomerate - the Euro American Education Group that encompasses several institutions and universities, including the European Institute of Management and Technology, Malta, the London School of Management and Technology, United Kingdom, and Birchwood University, USA. The Euro American Education Group was established by a team of distinguished educationists working in academia with the express purpose of providing meaningful learning opportunities to students around the world, enabling them to earn accredited degree qualifications at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Euro American Education Group has since then worked to set up institutions in the USA, Malta, France, the United Kingdom to further its mission of providing quality international educational opportunities globally.

The Euro American Institute (EAI), Malta, draws their inspiration from some of the world's top universities. The EAI Learning Management System (LMS) is used by these Collegiate Institutes (CI), which are organisations of professors, teachers, and administrators to provide approved modules and programs. An essential aspect of every institute's teaching team is the institute's dean or rector, who also serves as a teaching faculty member in the institute.

Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA)

The Euro American Institute (EAI) is an exemplary higher education institution that offers reputable European qualifications and is approved and recognized by the government of Malta. The Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) has accredited and licensed the Euro American Institute (EAI) in Malta with License Number: 2024-032 as a "Higher Education Institution." This accreditation allows the EAI to offer doctoral programs at Level 8 of both the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF) and the Maltese Qualifications Framework (MQF).

MFHEA is the Malta National Authority responsible for setting and updating the Malta Qualifications Framework, setting standards for the different qualification levels, accrediting courses at different MQF levels, and ensuring that the national quality assurance framework is upheld by all further and higher education providers in Malta. The Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), which is partly funded by the European Commission and the European Union, enforces ESG 2015 to enhance the quality of further and higher education.

European and Worldwide Accreditations

The Euro American Institute (EAI) is headquartered in Malta, which has been a member of the European Union since 2004 and the European Higher Education Area since 2010. Under Higher Education Institute License No. 2024 – 032 granted by the MFHEA, EAI is authorized to offer selected doctoral programs at Levels 8 of the Maltese Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The MFHEA license is recognized within the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) due to its compatibility with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) that allows for transportability of higher education credits and degrees within the European Union. Malta is a member of the Bologna Process, due to which EAI degrees are fully recognized throughout Europe and beyond under various treaty obligations including the Lisbon Recognition Convention.

The Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education in the European Region (ETS No. 165) also known as the Lisbon Recognition. Convention (LRC), ensures the recognition of the EAI Degrees and Awards by about 57 countries that are under treaty obligation as signatories to the Lisbon Recognition. Convention (LRC). Similarly, the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education, adopted by The General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, meeting in Paris from 12 to 27 November 2019 at its 40th session, further strengthens and promotes international mobility by ensuring the recognition of the qualifications approved by National Accreditation Authorities of member states at a global level. European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

The European Higher Education Area (EHEA) is a unique international collaboration on higher education comprises of 49 member countries from Europe and beyond. All the higher education institutions in the EHEA use the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), providing a shared framework for accrediting courses and degrees.

These 49 countries adopt reforms in higher education on the basis of common key values– such as freedom of expression, autonomy for institutions, independent student unions, academic freedom and free movement of students and staff. Through this process, countries, institutions and stakeholders in the European area continuously adapt their higher education systems making them more compatible and strengthening their quality assurance mechanisms.

Bologna Process

The Bologna Process names the agreements that harmonize the accreditation standards of Europe. The process created not only the EHEA, but also the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

    The European Higher Education Area (EHEA), peer support focuses on implementation of three key commitments:

  • A three-cycle system compatible with the overarching framework of qualifications of the EHEA and first and second cycle degrees scaled by ECTS,
  • Compliance with the Lisbon Recognition Convention and
  • Quality assurance in compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.

ENIC-NARIC

The ENIC-NARIC Networks are the result of the ongoing collaborations between the national information centres on academic recognition of qualifications from a total 55 countries, which are operating under the principles of the Lisbon Recognition Convention.

A national information centre (ENIC or ENIC-NARIC) is an entity established by each party to the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region (commonly known as the Lisbon Recognition Convention-LRC), in accordance with its Article IX.2(1). The European Network of national information centres (ENIC Network) was established in 1994, in close collaboration with UNESCO and the Council of Europe as Co-Secretariats. It complies with Article X.1(b) and X.3 of the LRC.

The National Academic Recognition Information Centres (NARIC) Network was established in 1984 with the European Commission as secretariat. The NARIC Network has a similar mandate to the ENIC Network, but in the context of the European Union.

An EAI qualification holder can seek recognition worldwide through the ENIC-Naric network owing to the recognition by the MFHEA.

It is responsible for proposing legislation, enforcing EU laws and directing the Union's administrative operations, including education initiatives and policy-making. It oversees the ECTS system. All EHEA countries have adopted the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG 2015).

Legalization
The Euro American Institute (EAI) has been duly established in Malta, as a higher education institute offering accredited degrees, under the aegis of the laws, regulations and authorities of Malta.

The diploma and transcript of the program of study from the EAI will be authenticated and registered by a Maltese public notary. If required, the same shall be apostilled. An apostille is a seal applied to a certified document to signify its legal authenticity for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention fulfilling the requirement of authenticity and legalization for foreign public documents. For the countries that are not part of the 1961 Hague Convention, the documents may be authenticated by the Embassy or Consulate of the particular country in Malta (If Applicable).

The European Institute of Management and Technology (EIMT) is a full member of the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE). Co – Funded by the European Union, the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE) was founded in Patras (Greece) in 1990 as an international association promoting and emphasising Professional Higher Education (PHE).
