Master of Computer Science (Cybersecurity)

Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT function, it has become one of the world's most critical business priorities. From multinational organisations and financial institutions to governments and healthcare providers, every sector relies on professionals who can protect digital assets, manage cyber risks, and defend against increasingly sophisticated attacks. As artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and connected technologies continue to transform industries, the demand for highly qualified cybersecurity experts continues to grow across the globe.

The Master of Computer Science (Cybersecurity) has been designed for professionals who aspire to move beyond operational security and become strategic cybersecurity leaders. This 90 ECTS, EQF Level 7 postgraduate program develops the advanced technical knowledge, analytical capability, and research expertise required to safeguard modern digital environments while addressing emerging cyber threats with confidence.

Learning extends far beyond theory. Every module incorporates practical laboratory exercises that simulate real-world cybersecurity scenarios, enabling learners to apply advanced concepts through hands-on experience. From securing cloud infrastructures and analysing malware to conducting penetration tests, implementing cryptographic solutions, responding to cyber incidents, and defending AI-powered systems, learners graduate with practical skills that reflect the expectations of today's cybersecurity industry.

The program culminates in a 30 ECTS Capstone Project, where learners undertake independent research to solve a genuine cybersecurity challenge. Working under expert academic supervision, they design, implement, validate, and critically evaluate an innovative solution before presenting and defending their research through an online viva voce examination. This significant research project demonstrates their ability to integrate technical expertise with strategic thinking and professional judgement.

Designed for ambitious professionals seeking to advance into senior technical, consulting, leadership, and research roles, the program prepares graduates to lead cybersecurity transformation across industries. Combining internationally recognised academic standards with practical learning and independent research, it provides the expertise required to protect organisations, strengthen digital resilience, and shape the future of cybersecurity in an increasingly connected world.
