Certificate in 3D Animation

The Certificate in 3D Animation program, offered by EIMT, is a 6-month online, self-paced program with live sessions for graduates who want to learn practical 3D animation skills.

The course is designed to give you practical, hands-on experience rather than focusing on lengthy theoretical concepts. You learn the skills to model, texture, rig, animate, light and render a complete 3D shot using software that are generally used in professional studios.

The structure of this program follows the processes used in a real-life 3D production pipeline. It begins with fundamentals of art and animation, then you learn modelling, texturing and rigging. Thereafter, you move on to the stage of animating, lighting and rendering your very own character shot. The course finishes with compositing your work and creating a professional showreel.

You will work with software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, Unreal Engine and Cascadeur.

Upon completing the program, you will have built an impressive portfolio featuring your own rigged character, an animated scene, a rendered sequence, and a professional showreel. You can then use this project portfolio to demonstrate your talent to your prospective employers or clients. This program will put you on the path to a rewarding career as a 3D Animator, Character Animator, 3D Modeler, Rigger, Texturing Artist, Lighting Artist or Render Artist among others in the animation, gaming, VFX and digital media industries.

Why Choose a Certificate in 3D Animation Program with EIMT?

Follow the Real Studio Workflow

The course proceeds in the same sequence that is used in the studio; modelling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, and composting. You get to understand every step in the process the way it is done in practise.

Master Industry-Standard Software

Gain hands-on experience with the tools used by leading animation, gaming, and VFX studios. Each module is dedicated to a specific skill and the corresponding software, including Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Adobe Substance 3D Painter, and Unreal Engine.

Learn by Creating

Every module ends with a practical assignment, such as a prop, character, rig or animated shot. You learn by making things, not by only watching lessons or taking quizzes.

AI-Assisted Animation Tools Included

Experience hands-on exposure to Cascadeur, an AI-assisted animation tool now used to speed up body mechanics and weight work in real studios.

Learn More in Less Time

In this short duration program, you move from basic drawing and animation principles to creating a finished, rendered and composited 3D shot.

A Finished Showreel at the End

Each module helps you build towards a final character shot and showreel. This gives your learning a clear purpose from beginning to end.

Learn from Faculty with Industry Experience

Learn from the experienced faculty who have worked on developing real characters, rigs and animation projects, bringing practical industry experience into the classroom.

Learn Online, With Expert Guidance

Study the program online with the flexibility to learn from wherever you are. Along with recorded lessons, you receive live guidance, feedback and supervision throughout the program.

Study From Wherever You Are

There is no need to relocate or attend in-person classes. Complete the program online while learning from the comfort of your own location.

Open to Graduates from Any Background

You do not need a degree in design or animation to join. A Bachelor's degree in any subject and a genuine interest in learning 3D animation are enough to get started.
